The Adaptive Skills Program helps children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities build the practical skills needed to increase independence and successfully participate at home and in their communities. Services are individualized to meet each person's unique needs and focus on teaching meaningful, everyday life skills that promote greater self sufficiency and improve overall quality of life.
Adaptive skills training may include, but is not limited to:
Housekeeping
Food preparation
Money management
Technology skills
Social skills
Community access
Personal hygiene
Dressing skills
And many other daily living skills that support greater independence
Designed for Individuals Who
Are ready to focus on learning and building everyday life skills
Want to increase independence at home and in the community
Are ages 5 to 59
Are in good general health
Are eligible for Regional Center services

Adaptive Skills Training Services Include
Services include a 10-hour individualized adaptive skills assessment, followed by personalized support delivered in the home and community. Caregivers also receive guidance to help reinforce each individual’s skills and progress.
